WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER
Neun Tage (80 Stunden)
Unser Wilderness First Responder Kurs ist für dem Outdoor-Profi konzipiert. Der Schwerpunkt liegt darauf, Fähigkeiten zu entwicklen, um die Probleme außerhalb der "goldenen Stunde" der Erstrettung zu behandeln. Der Kurs basiert auf den Protokollen Wilderness Medical Society.
Unterricht im Klassenzimmer wird gefolgt von praktischen Übungen, um das gelernte gleich zu festigen. Es besteht 100%ige Anwesenheitspflicht, und es wird auch ein Nacht-Szenario geben. Die Übungen werden mitgefilmt, und in einer späteren Videoanalyse in der Gruppe ausgewertet.
Es wird eine umfangreiche schriftliche Prüfung geben. Der Kurs enthält außerdem das amerikanische CPR Zertifikat.
Die Kurssprache ist englisch, und auch die Prüfung muss in englischer Sprache abgelegt werden.

Day 2: Traumatic Injuries
*Understanding the Inflammatory Response/ Review of cellular physiology
*Autonomic Stress Response
* Nervous System injuries/ Increased ICP, Concussion, Head wounds, Unstable Spine
*Respiratory injuries/ Respiratory distress
*Circulatory Injuries/ Volume Shock
* Stable and Unstable Muskuloskeletal Injuries
*Patient Assessment System (PAS) Part 2
* Hands on field exercises/ Two on One Patient Assessment : 3 Rotations

Day 3: More on Trauma
*Quiz 1
*Wounds, Infections, Burns
* Pigs Foot Lab/ Includes irrigation, punctured objects and fish hook removal
* Exploration of the Muskuloskelatal System/ Anatomy and Physiology
* Stable and Unstable Muskuloskeletal Injuries
*1:1 Splinting Lab
* Spine Assessment and Lab/ A conservative process for checking the spine

Day 4: Environmental Injuries
*Spine ruling-out quiz
*Hypothermia
*Heat Problems (Heat Stroke, Heat Exhaustion, Electrolyte Sickness, Sunburn)
*Cold Injury ( Frostbite, Trench Foot, Chilblains)
*Near Drowning
*Spine Management Lab/ Moving spine injured patients, back-boarding, litters

Day 5: More on Environmental
*Quiz 2
*Toxins, Bites and Stings/ Includes BBC video
*Anaphylaxis/Allergies
*Injections Lab
*Altitude
*Lightning
*More two on one patient field assessments: 3 rotations

Day 6: Introduction to Medical/ Night Scenario

Night Scenario: Will begin at dark and run until complete???

Day 7: Improvised Litters, More Medical and Written Exam
*Review and debrief of Night Scenario

Day 8: Video Simulation 1 and 2

Zusätzliche Information
Kunstblut und Make-up wird verwendet, um realistische Wunden, Blutergüsse und Blutungen zu schaffen. Die Teilnehmer benötigen mindestens ein oder zwei Garnituren Kleidung, die zerschnitten und gefärbt werden können. Alle Szenarien werden mit realistischen Outsoorszenarien und Patienten nachgestellt. Verschiedene Materialien der Ausrüstung werden zum schienen, für Hypo-Wraps und um den Partienten zu isolieren verwendet.
Die Video-Simulationen den Teilnehmern die die Möglichkeit geben, ihre Simulationen direkt zu überprüfen. Der Druck, der durch das filmen entsteht, fügt ein Element der Angst ein, die in einem realen Vorfall auch dabei wäre.
